Scanner Chatter: Annabeth Barnes drives toward NASCAR in new "Racing Dreams" documentary

By Doug Turnbull

Annabeth Barnes has been racing since she was seven years old. Since then, she has won over 30 races and over 50 poles in the World Karting Association and became the youngest driver to win a NASCAR Drive for Diversity award. A few years ago, a film crew follwed Annabeth and two other races for one season on their karting circuit. Then 11, Barnes gives viewers an inside view of life on the road and at the track. The film is called "Racing Dreams" and can be seen tonight at 9 p.m. on PBS and online at pva.org. Barnes talks to News/Talk WSB about her racing dreams, working with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson (executive producer of the documentary), and about becoming a movie star? You have to hear this. Listen and/or Download
