When Walt Disney flew in his private jet over Orlando in 1963 looking for a place to build a new theme park he began a journey that would not only change the world, but the landscape of central Florida.

When I arrived this Sunday morning for the 2013 Capital One Bowl, I immediately hit a traffic jam on I-4.  Now, I know traffic is bad in Atlanta, but I doubt that we have seen many traffic jams on the connector on Sunday mornings based on sheer volume, but in Orlando, I guess it is a way of life.

So to add to this mess and confusion that is Orlando, we plop down two major college football programs and their fan bases.  Yikes.

I have never been fond of the Capital One Bowl.  I think the Citrus Bowl Stadium is old and decrypted.  I always thought the event was poorly run.  However, I can see where this place is a pretty good destination to have your final game of the season.

But I digress.

So many question surrounding this game for UGA and many of them, as always have nothing to do with the game itself.  How many Dawgs will forego and jump to the NFL?  Will the Dawgs be able to return to the SEC title game?  Who will become the next recruiting coordinator?

Next season, on defense, the Dawgs will lose, John Jenkins (actually he’s gone already, as you probably know), Abry Jones, Michael Gilliard, Christian Robinson, Cornelius Washington, Branden Smith, Shawn Williams, Bacarri Rambo, and Sanders Commings.  Additionally, most expect Alec Ogletree, Jarvis Jones and Kwame Geathers to move on as well.  Garrison Smith may opt out of Athens as well.

That’s quite a chunk to say the least.  You can see where the gloom-and-doom members of the Bulldog Nation (the bloggers) are predicting a rapid fall for Georgia in 2013.

However, I go back to the one thing I always say when looking ahead in college football.  And that is, “there is always someone else.”

The Dawgs have a load of freshmen coming in whom, if they stick with their commitment, will go a long way in “reloading” the defense.  If you think true freshmen cannot make an impact on the Georgia Bulldogs, then I submit as evidence, Todd Gurley, Keith Marshall, Jordan Jenkins, and, last season, Malcolm Mitchell.

Sure, I know I work for UGA.  And when it comes to the team, I always take a positive side.  However, I also like approach each new season with excitement and optimism.

So, enjoy the Capital One Bowl.  Forget about what could be or will be for the UGA football program in the future.  Playing Nebraska, a true legendary program,  is a pretty good way to end a season.  Hey, it could be worse; we could be playing Louisville or Northern Illinois.
