The Redemption of Christian Conley

UGA wide out, Chris Conley bounced back from the loss to Alabama in a big way.

Enjoy your bowl game; forget about tomorrow

Enjoy the Capital One Bowl. Forget about what could be or will be for the UGA football program in the future. Playing Nebraska, a true legendary program, is a pretty good way to end a season.

Standing tall during an emotional low

Quarterback Aaron Murray and Coach Mark Richt handled the loss to Alabama with class and dignity. Because like all good fighters, they know there will be another game. Even if this one hurts so much.

The road less traveled stinks

Saturday’s SEC title game is about more than just making it to the BCS Championship in Miami on January 7th. It’s about preventing a 20 story drop from the penthouse to the Capital One Bowl, among others.

Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets head coach Paul Johnson leaves the field before kickoff against Georgia at the annual state rivalry football game.

The ACC: Fading fast on the football landscape

When it comes to college football, the ACC is just plain lousy.

Will the Governor's Trophy stay in Athens?

Georgia Tech and beyond

Don't let your goofball friends deprive you from enjoying where the UGA football stands at this point in the season.

Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray was 18-28 with 330 yards and 4 touchdown passes in the Bulldog's 45-14 win over Georgia Southern on Nov. 17.

Something special this way comes

Offensively, this has been the greatest of all UGA seasons.

Wooooooten!

Hooray for the good hands folks

If there is truly strength in numbers, then the strength of the 2012 Georgia Bulldogs is within its group of receivers.

Georgia head coach Mark Richt gives fans a thumbs up after defeating Auburn 38-0.

Oh yes he did

The Dawgs return to the SEC Title game for a fifth time is a testament to the leadership of Mark Richt.

Nick Fairley's hit on Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray late in the UGA-Auburn game set off fights that led to two Auburn players ejected for half of the following Alabama game.

Never forget 2010

For me, personally, this game at Auburn is about much more than winning another shot at going to the SEC Title game in December. It’s about remembering 2010 and how Auburn, on their way to winning a national title, did all it could to humiliate, injure and destroy UGA.

Let me guess, in the Ole Miss playbook this means act like a sociopath and try for world domination.

Football is getting too darn complicated

In the UGA 37-10 win over Ole Miss we were witness to more audibles and check-down than we could handle, and it came from both teams.

The sign of misery for fans heading from metro Atlanta to Athens on gameday.

Gameday on 316? Stick a fork in it

There are many great things about football in Athens on a Saturday. Georgia 316 is not one of them.

Richt argues with an official over a first-half call.

Richt's signature win

The Dawgs have had many wins during Mark Richt's tenure, but none bigger than the 17-9 win over the Gators in Jacksonville.

Muschamp changes the rivarly, somewhat

It was much easier to hate the Florida Gators during the years under Steve Spurrier and Urban Meyer.

Georgia Bulldogs running back Todd Gurley (3) was bottled up by the Kentucky defense.

It was more like labor than a win

The Georgia Bulldogs game at Kentucky ended the right way for Dawgs' fans, but it was a long and laborious battle to get there.

Brandon Boykin (2) and Ray Drew (47) give coach Mark Richt the ceremonial "bath" after clinching the SEC East title vs. Kentucky 2011.

Want a rout? I vote for trying this weekend

Just once, let’s beat a team into submission. I vote for this weekend. Can't promise it will happen because, face it, this is the SEC. But hopefully, the bad taste of the South Carolina debacle will light a fire under this team like we’ve never seen.

The Georgia bench reflects as the game winds down. South Carolina defeated Georgia 35-7.

Welcome to the SEC, young men

The loss at South Carolina was a rude awakening for the talented UGA freshmen as well as all Dawgs fans.

The battle against evil in modern times

The Dawgs’ most important game of the season, thus far, comes down to a battle with Steve Spurrier on the opposite sideline. A man that UGA fans, who suffered in the 90s, despise with a passion.

Quarterback Aaron Murray (11) calls the play during the Bulldogs' game against Tennessee on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012.

Chasing the orange ghosts of the past

Many times, what was looking like a great season for the Georgia Bulldogs, was curtailed by a loss to Tennessee in Athens. Not this time.

Munson's head-scratching metaphor even took him by surprise, as he explained in a 2005 interview. "I didn't know what the hell a hobnailed boot was. It just came out. But then Furman Bisher [of the AJC] called and told me guys used them to climb trees. Who knew? I guess the Lindsay Scott call will always be No. 1, but I liked the hobnailed boot. That would be a close second."

Beyond the Hobnail Boot

Every time we play Tennessee, the memories of Larry Munson come rushing back stronger than ever.
