I'm a big fan of the ASO. They are pulling a "NASCAR" style open with one of the biggest events of the season right up front (ala the Daytona 500): Beethoven's 9th Symphony with the mighty Atlanta Symphony Chorus and some of Wagner's greatest hits, include "Ride of the Valkyries" (I love the smell of napalm in the morning - remember "Apocalypse Now?") Guest stars include soprano superstar Christine Brewer. Thu, Fri, Sun Sept 22, 23, 25 at Symphony Hall. Hope to see you there. Go to atlantasymphony.org or get a concert preview here.
