Don't get used to having high temperatures below 90 in Atlanta. The
large scale synoptic pattern still favors highs of 90-95 any day that is
not cloudy. So once the tropical moisture from the remains of TD5 and
the East/NE "wedge" flow breaks down, the cloud-sun mix will return and
quickly heat us up again.
And all the while, cloudy or sunny the high
humidity will stick around to keep it sticky humid.
Plenty more hot weather is indicated by the models showing high 500mb heights and a Sonoran-Great Smokies-Bermuda high configuration with minor variation through Labor Day weekend.
