This is the last month of "Meteorological Summer" and Meteorological fall starts September first. Of course, astronomical or official autumn starts September 22nd with the autumnal equinox. The northern plains and upper Midwest face record threatening cool temps today and tomorrow with patchy light frost possible! Our cool down will not be so dramatic but not real heat is in sight the next 10 days with temps averaging near-normal to below-normal.
