Kirk Mellish's Weather Commentary

Oh Danny boy

By Kirk Mellish

Less wind shear and unusually warm water temps up the East Coast 82 F as far North as Delaware along with model simulations all suggest good chance Danny will become a hurricane in the days ahead, but dry air injecting into the storm should keep intensification slow. Most models curve the storm North/Northeast with time just offshore of the East Coast. But a glancing strike is still possible on the outter banks of NC by Saturday with a second land scrape between MA and Nova Scotia late in the weekend. The threat zone is from North Carolina Saturday to Canada Sunday. Significant taste of cooler and drier than normal air for the Midwest to North Georgia will bring us back to the hint of fall in the air starting Tuesday possibly lasting into early next Month.
