Hillary Clinton is lucky.  Not when it comes to the Presidential race of late, where she has lost ten states in a row to Barack Obama.  But she is lucky in a different way, that she was losing this week with the Congress out of session.

Just yesterday, we had two more uncommitted Democrats in Congress come out for Barack Obama, Rep. Lloyd Dogget of Texas and Rep. Ron Kind of Wisconsin.

Meanwhile, Rep. John Lewis of Georgia, who has vacillated on his support for Hillary Clinton, now finds himself being challenged in the Democratic primary for his House seat.

What if Congress had been in session this week while Hillary Clinton's losing streak reaching 10 in a row?

I bet we would have had a lot more pressure on a lot more members of Congress to step out of their Uncommitted Shells and sign up with Obama. 

Instead, Clinton's people will be able to argue next week (as their colleagues return to Washington for work) that they should wait to do anything until after the March 4th round of primaries.

I can almost hear them saying in the cloakroom, "Give her a chance!" while alternately rolling their eyes and silently acknowledging that the race against Obama is already in a tough spot.

For black lawmakers who have backed Clinton, the pressure is especially intense.  Rep. Lewis has basically gone into the Congressional Witness Protection Program since the New York Times reported a week ago that he was switching to Obama from Clinton.

There is only one way for stuff like this to be stanched.

Hillary Clinton has to win in both Texas and Ohio on March 4.

"If she wins in Texas and Ohio, I think she will be the nominee," Bill Clinton said at a Texas rally on Wednesday.

But what happens if his wife can't win that Primary Daily Double?

"If you don't deliver for her," President Bill said, "I don't think she can be" the nominee.
