Obama doubts rapper Nicki Minaj's apparent Romney endorsement

In an interview on Orlando radio station Power 95.3, President Barack Obama weighed in on whether rapper Nicki Minaj really was endorsing Republican presidential hopeful, Mitt Romney. During the program (about 6 minutes into the interview), the hosts of the "Obie and Lil'Shawn" show directed the conversation to Minaj and asked if the president's daughters, Sasha and Malia, were fans.

The conversation then turned to the lyrics of a song on the recent Lil' Wayne album, "Dedication 4" released last week . Minaj is featured on the track, "Mercy," as a guest artist. The hosts were refered to the lyrics, "I'm a Republican voting for Mitt Romney/You lazy b*****s is f*****g up the economy."

Obama replied, "I'm not sure that's actually what happened. I think she had a song on there, a little rap that said that," and noted that "she likes to play different characters."

Later Minaj responded via Twitter to Obama, which seemed to confirm his suspicions on the validity of her endorsement of Romney.
