A march by leftist groups and students in Athens erupted in violence on Thursday (December 6) after police fired tear gas to quell groups of youths throwing molotov cocktails and stones. The huge crowd of protesters scattered as police officers on foot and on motorcycles tore through the protesters. The clashes continued through the streets of Athens. The march was in remembrance of the killing of a teenager by police four years ago that caused riots in Athens.
