The Museum of Design (formerly the Atlanta International Museum of Art and Design) is one of only a select group of museums in the United States devoted exclusively to design. This focus came about as a response to the popularity of exhibits and programs that explored new developments and trends in various types of design; the local design community's unrpecedented support for such programs; and Atlanta's reputation as the design center of the Southeast.
