The Alliance Theatre was founded in 1968 and merged with the Atlanta Children's Theatre in 1977. In 1979 the much-loved venue created the Acting Program and Education Department which seeks to foster and support aspiring playwrights, actors, and costume designers. The Alliance Theatre is a learning focused venue in which educating the community is equally as important as producing quality material.
