The defense presents its case, Wednesday, with a man accused of murdering one woman and injuring two others at a Midtown parking garage in 2011.
A woman paralyzed by that shooting in Midtown described it from her wheelchair in court on Tuesday.
"I just fell to the ground and landed on my stomach," testified Lauren Garcia, "and realized that I could not move my legs."
WSB legal analyst Ron Carlson says it is that kind of compelling testimony that could sway the jurors.
"These sorts of witnesses stir juror emotions and bring out empathy and concern," says Carlson.
Nkosi Thandiwe, 23, faces murder and aggravated assault charges.
Carlson thinks the defense faces an uphill battle, but stresses the trial is not over yet.
"Eyewitness identification of him will be very, very important, it seems to me," says Carlson. "Beyond that, there are a number of mysteries surrounding the defense -- exactly what the motive of this individual was."
