CLARKSTON - Three days after a body was found on the Clarkston campus of Georgia Perimeter College, two people have been arrested in connection with the killing.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation said early Thursday morning that Christopher Shepard, 28, and Constance Mason, 44, were booked in the DeKalb County jail on charges related to the murder of Alpha Oumar Diallo.
The GBI is charging Shepard with one count of murder and Mason with one count of false statements and writings.
The two live off North Indian Creek Drive, almost across the street from the college. The GBI did not say what their relationship is.
Diallo’s body was found Monday on the school’s campus. An autopsy shows Diallo died from strangulation and blunt force injuries to the head.
He was not a student at GPC. The GBI says he is a citizen of French Guinea in West Africa and has been living in the U.S. since 2008. He was last seen Sunday around 4 p.m. near his home in Stone Mountain.
Students at GPC complained they received no information from the school about the man’s death, saying they were worried about what they didn’t know.
The body was discovered near the nursing school, where students were taking their final exams.
