The good news is the Spring Break traffic may be worse than the weather today. WSB's meteorologist Kirk Mellish says that the severe weather has turned into scattered showers. However, Sunday will be a different story.
"Sunday will have a 40 percent chance of showers in the morning. 70 percent likely in the afternoon. 100 likely at night with a high of 62," says Mellish.
Mellish is putting the rain chance at 70 percent for Friday. Showers and thunderstorms will be likely Friday afternoon and carry on through the early evening hours.
“It looks like a real soaker,” says Mellish, “with 1-2 inches of rain Sunday night and Monday, and we will have to monitor for any chance of severe weather as well.”
Saturday is the “pick of the weekend.” The rain will be gone with a decent amount of sunshine. Highs will be around 68, with overnight lows 46-50.
The rain chance falls back to 30 percent by Tuesday it will be a touch cooler, with highs in the mid 60s.
