SMYRNA - Cobb County police arrested three people possibly responsible for a deadly shooting in the parking lot of a Zaxby’s restaurant near Smyrna.
Desmond Mosby, 27 of Atlanta, Gershom Joshua Brown, 27, of Marietta, and Kemanie Rhaburn, 29, of Englewood, California, were arrested and charged with murder and one other charge.
“Our investigators have forged great relationships with other outstanding investigators in the metro area,” said Cobb Sherriff Neil Warren. “It is because of this that we can come together under a common mission and be successful.”
Police say the shooting happened around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the restaurant the 2500 block of South Cobb Drive.
The victim, identified as 29 year old Jarvis McNabb died on arrival at Kennestone Hospital. Jarvis was shot outside the restaurant on South Cobb Drive in the parking lot. Moments after the shooting, witnesses told police they saw one man run from the restaurant and two others get into a red compact car and drive out of the parking lot onto South Cobb Drive.
Police admit little is known about the victim.
The victim was rushed to a local hospital where he later died. Bowman says he doesn’t know how many times the man was shot.
“It’s not the first thing that’s happened here. They’ve been robbed twice in the last two months,” Shanika Mabuya, the mother of one of the employees told Channel 2 Action News.
Details about what may have led to the shooting were not released, but officials do not believe the shooting was random.
