A grocery store employee was the alleged target of a man accused of shooting in a Lawrenceville Kroger early Monday afternoon.
Leevon Young, 42, was arrested and charged with three counts of aggravated assault and one count of gun possession for the incident at the supermarket at 455 Grayson Highway.
Just after noon Monday, police said Young, of Lawrenceville, entered the store and opened fire.
Audrey Sabala, 66, was struck in the lower abdomen, and 19-year-old Ana-Bel Mojica was hit in the leg, Lawrenceville Police Capt. Greg Vaughn said.
Both Lawrenceville women were taken to Gwinnett Medical center with what authorities considered non-life threatening injuries.
No motive has been determined.
Police were on the scene within minutes of the shooting, and heavily armed officers cordoned off the entrance to the store while customers and employees inside scrambled to safety, witnesses said.
Young is being held without bond at the Gwinnett County Detention Center.
