Surveillance photos show ‘Buckhead Bandit’ in action

After 10 stores were robbed in recent weeks, and business owners and employees along Peachtree Street are a little jumpy.

"Once it gets dark and I hear the bell ring, you just don't know," said Shqwandra Moore, who works the Subway in Buckhead that was hit by the man Atlanta police are calling the “Buckhead Bandit.”

Yes, he’s got a catchy title. But police say his scores are swift and smooth.

"He is very casual. He seems to have done this before. He is not nervous at all," Sgt. P. Spann with the Atlanta Police Department told Channel 2 Action News. "He kind of walks into the business very cool and calm. He approaches the cash register as if he's going to make a purchase.”

Police think the suspect is responsible for 10 robberies all along Peachtree St. Most have been in Buckhead. But he’s also hit a pharmacy in midtown and two business in Brookhaven.

Sgt. Spann says he’s swiped “$200 to $300 a time” from businesses ranging from CVS Pharmacies, to Subways, to a Radio Shack and a Mattress Firm store.

"He said, 'Don't move,' and I was like, 'What are you talking about, don't move?' and when I looked up the gun was pointed at my face," Moore said as her Subway was being robbed.

Atlanta police released a series of surveillance videos Tuesday night hoping to identify the man. A composite sketch was released today.

If you can identify the man Atlanta police ask you to call the Crime Stoppers at 404-577-8477.
