It's a record incoming class at the University of Georgia. And we're not even talking about football.

This year's freshman class is raising the bar in Athens with an average GPA of 3.9, its highest ever.

The average SAT score of 1913 is also the highest in school history. It's an increase of 16% over last year's average score.

Over 95% of this year's freshmen were enrolled in AP or International Baccalaureate classes in high school.

Of the over 21,000 applications for the fall, about 5,200 freshmen will be in Athens when classes start Monday August 18.
