Hertz has doubled its reward to $50,000 for information leading to the murder of one its employees.
Monique Marlow was cleaning a rental car in the parking lot of the facility on Satellite Boulevard last September when she was shot to death.
The 24-year-old’s dying words to officers described her killer as a black man wearing a blue shirt.
Gwinnett County police investigators say they have received numerous tips over the past year, but none have led to the killer.
“We know that the police are working very hard but they don’t have much to go on,” Dan Marlowe said a few months after his daughter’s murder. “It’s just been really hard for them to come up with anything since there is, as far as we know, no motive.”
Police say no one witnessed the murder despite a busy bus stop that sits just yards away.
The family believes one key to finding the killer could be a missing sliver necklace Marlowe often wore with a mouse ear pendant.
“It is not an expensive necklace, it is something she got when she did an internship with Disney and it is just something she liked to wear,” says her father.
While several theories have been floated by police, he believes robbery may have been the motive.
“This person is a violent person, he needs to be off the street,” says Marlowe.
