Police looking for answers in young father's murder

Police in two jurisdictions are looking for answers in the brutal murder of a young father over the weekend.

It began Saturday night when Brookhaven Police issued a missing endangered person lookout for 24-year old Andre Tripps. Investigators now say he seemed okay when he was last seen at a gas station on North Druid Hills Rd. Surveillance video showed no signs of trouble, but then came a fire call off of Tara Boulevard in Clayton County Sunday.

“I think they had a two-acre brush fire,” said Clayton County Police Major Joe Woodall. “When they got to the center of this brush fire, (firefighters) discovered this man’s body.”

Woodall said Tripps had been tied up and killed, his body then set on fire.

So far, there is no word on a motive or possible suspects.

Tripps leaves behind a wife and child.
