One suspect still at large in Fayettville armed robbery

Fayetteville Police have located one suspect alive, another dead, and another remains on the run in connection with Friday night's armed robbery of the China Cafe in Fayetteville.

Lt. Mike Whitlow tells WSB, 26-year-old Alvin Scott of Jonesboro, was arrested Monday morning. He also led them to the body of 25-year-old Alonzo Starks of Morrow. His body was found in an abandoned home in Morrow.

Starks was shot several times during the holdup by one of the employees of the restaurant.

"He was defending himself and his other fellow employees and they finally, the inevitability, finally happened for them," said Whitlow.

One of the employees, who was shot, remains in critical condition at Grady Hospital.  The search continues for a third suspect, 27-year-old Leandro Johnson.

Whitlow says they believe these three are responsible for another robbery in Fayetteville at a restaurant on October 3rd, and several other robberies elsewhere.

"Clayton County, the City of Morrow, Hapeville, Fulton County, and Henry County, and there may be other jurisdictions also," said Whitlow.

Whitlow says these robberies have been going on for several months.

"When you have incidents of this nature and this much violence and this seriousness of nature, sooner and later, they're going to run into somebody who is going to defend themselves and that's exactly what happened," said Whitlow.
