Officers are investigating after a man was shot on Morehouse College's campus Friday evening.

ATLANTA —

A pickup basketball game led to gunfire at Morehouse College in Atlanta Friday. The victim was shot in the arm, while the suspect remains on the loose.

Police say the shooting happened outside the gym at Samuel A. Archer Hall, and it all stemmed from an earlier argument during the basketball game.

"We think it's totally irresponsible to have a weapon on a college campus, let alone discharge it,” said Morehouse Police Chief Vernon Worthy. “That's why we're pursuing the perps right now."

Four total shots were fired, but no one else was hit. Police say they think the suspect is a student from a local college.

The victim was shot in the forearm, and was taken to Grady Hospital, alert and responsive.

Police say they’re looking at pictures and videos from witnesses’ phones to help identify and track down the suspect.
