Storage Facility Fire

GWTW Items Destroyed

By Chris Camp

Atlanta, GA —

Among the items destroyed in a stubborn fire at a storage facility in Henry County is memorabilia from the classic movie "Gone With The Wind."

The blaze at Hudson Self Storage on Hudson Bridge Road near I-75 in Stockbridge broke out late Thursday night and crews spend much of the day Friday pouring water on hot spots and flare-ups inside and outside the building.
Investigators have not yet determined what sparked the blaze.
The Clayton County Convention and Visitors Bureau operates the Road To Tara Museum.
Spokeswoman Frenda Turner said items not currently on display were kept at Hudson Self Storage.
She said some of the memorabilia was used at the 1939 premier of "Gone With The Wind."
Turner described the items as "highly collectable and irreplaceable."
She valued the items at "a few hundred thousand dollars."
