Race for Georgia's GOP a three way tie

By Pete Combs

With Rick Santorum coming on strong, the race for Georgia's GOP delegates is now a three-way tie.  Santorum, Newt Gingrich and Mitt Romney each has about a quarter of the vote.

WSB political expert Bill Crane says this could mean bad news for all three in winning the nomination.  “He will have considerably less financial resource because he’ll have to have spent it to win the nomination,” says Crane.

Crane says it also raises the possibility of a wide open GOP convention in August.

If no clear winner emerges by August former Alaskan governor Sarah Palin’s name is just one you might see tossed in the ring.

Crane says there are more possibilities than just Palin. “People like former Florida governor Jeb Bush, former Indiana governor Mitch Daniels, and current governor Chris Christie of New Jersey.”

In other words, the entire GOP election season could be a do-over.
