Georgia's new license plates are available statewide, beginning today.
License plates issued before December 1, 2003 will be replaced when owners renew their vehicle registration this year. License plates issued after December 1, 2003, will be replaced starting in May 2013.
The new car tag was chosen by Gov. Nathan Deal in a contest last year. The winning design features peaches and green hills. According to the AJC, it was created by Linda Sosebee, an artist from Middle Georgia's Monroe County.
The slogan "In God We Trust" can be added at the owner's request, without charge, after July 1.
