Dangerous drug concoction may have killed Georgia Teen

By Richard Sangster

Lamar County, GA —

Lamar Co. Sheriff's investigators don't know what killed Ryan Lovic, but they suspect a mix of codeine syrup and promethazen, used in treating motion sickness, mixed with a beverage may have killed the 19 year old. His mother found him dead in his bedroom.

Investigators claim, Lovic was abandon by friends, Katherine Norden, 21, Jessica Casteel, 19 and Elbert Horton, 21. They told investigators, " Lovic was cold to the touch," and they never called 911.  After investigators charged the trio with abandonment of a dead body they posted 2,000 dollars bond each to get out of jail.

A toxicology report should determine Lovic's cause of death, and the local District Attorney will present the case to the grand jury, recommending the charges be upgraded to concealment of a body.
