Senator Saxby Chambliss will not run for re-election in 2014.  Pollsters already are handicapping the field of potential contenders.

A telephone survey of 1000 Georgia voters by GaPundit.com shows former Governor Sonny Perdue leading other possible Republican Senate candidates with 22.4 percent support.  Former Secretary of State Karen Handel is next at 15 percent.  According to editor Todd Rehm, 60 percent of her support comes from women.

Two members of the Republican congressional delegation, Paul Broun of Athens and Tom Price of Roswell poll about 10 percent.  Congressman Lynn Westmoreland draws about 8 percent support.

One in four voters surveyed is undecided.
