An Atlanta City Councilman has proposed a development plan that he says will bring people back to the area and create jobs.
H. Lamar Willis tells Channel 2 Action News for $500,000, the city can focus on plans that would go well with the development of the new stadium, the civil rights museum, and the college football hall of fame.
"We have all of these wonderful things happening in downtown Atlanta, but really not a lot of synchronization," said Willis.
Bruce Teilhaber, who owns Friedman's Shoes on Mitchell Street, thinks the plan is a great idea.
"It would revitalize us and it would be like somebody giving you blood. It would make breathe again. It would keep me working another 58 years," said Teilhaber.
Willis says if the plan passes, he hopes it can be done within six months, which would not be too long after we learn plans for the Falcons' stadium.
