Reward offered for arrest of shooting suspect

Atlanta —

Atlanta Police are hoping that a $2,000 reward will help find the person who shot a man to death outside of his home. 

39-year-old Terry Porter, who owned an assisted living facilities in Cobb and DeKalb counties was shot to death outside of his home Tuesday morning on South Gordon Street near Cascade Road.

Atlanta Police Lt. Paul Guerrucci tells WSB Porter last spoke to someone around midnight and his body was found around 7 o'clock Tuesday morning shot to death.

"A motive could've been robbery.  And we certainly have not been able to locate his cell phone that his missing," said Guerrucci.

Porter's pockets had also been gone through and his 2006 Range Rover with Georgia tag BIM 9827 is missing.

Guerrucci says they are looking into the possibility that he was killed because he owned the two businesses.

"It's early in the investigation and of course we're going to continue to consider all possibilities and that's certainly will be investigated," said Guerrucci.

Porter's brother Dwayne, tells Channel 2 Action News his brother's murder was senseless.

"I couldn't believe it.  I just wanted to catch the people whoever did this," said Porter.

Friend Sunshine Lewis says his family is struggling.

"Terry Porter was a man of value, a man of morals, a man of dignity, a man of respect, integrity, that loved everybody," said Lewis.
