Poll: Gingrich has large lead in Ga.

By Jennifer Griffies

A new Channel 2 Action News presidential poll shows while Newt Gingrich is leading in Georgia, a win is not a slam dunk on Super Tuesday.

According to the Landmark Communications/Rosetta Stone Poll, Newt Gingrich leads with 38 percent.   Rick Santorum has 25 percent and Mitt Romney is in third place at 19 percent.  13 percent of the voters remain undecided.

According to the poll, Santorum has slipped five points in the past two weeks and Mitt Romney is closing in on second place.

WSB Political analyst Bill Crane says the 13 percent of undecided voters could play a big role on Super Tuesday.

"That essentially says they're not right now in Newt Gingrich's camp, so they're either going to break for Rick Santorum or Mitt Romney," said Crane.

While Gingrich is expected to do well in Georgia, and he's also doing well in Tennessee, there is still a long way to go.

"I really don't foresee him winning many other states on Super Tuesday, and there are ten.  So, win two, lose eight, the delegate math is not good," said Crane.
