CLAYTON COUNTY —

A shooting in Jonesboro leaves one man dead. And the victim happens to be the nephew of State Representative Joe Heckstall.

Quinn Keevon Heckstall, 20, was pronounced dead after being shot during an argument around 9:00 Saturday night at an apartment complex near Mt. Zion Parkway.

"We're not taking this very lightly," Joe Heckstall told Channel 2 Action News. "It happens too often. Too many times to young people in this country. And you can be assured that we will do what we can to make sure this tragedy has justice in the ending."

Police have not released a motive in the case as they continue to search for a suspect.

"I want to also pray for the people who did this because I think they need help, both psychologically and emotionally. Especially spiritually," said Joe Heckstall.
