Airlines improving customer service

By Bob Coxe

The airline industry is doing a little better than last year when it comes to customer satisfaction, but that still leaves plenty of room for improvement.

David Van Amburg with the American Customer Satisfaction Index says fares are the biggest concern for air travelers - understandable when they're this high: "Pretty much all of the big legacy carriers are entrenched at the bottom of the industry, because their prices are typically higher than the JetBlues, the Spirits, the Southwests."

JetBlue tops the latest survey with an 81. Southwest, which is in the process of taking over AirTran, gets a 77, Delta a 65. American and United bring up the rear.
