Poll: 60 percent GOP voters want Gingrich, Paul out

Washington, DC —

Six out of 10 republicans think it's time for Newt Gingrich and Ron Paul to bow out of the primary race.

A CNN-Opinion Research Poll finds about that same percentage want Rick Santorum to stay in.  Thirty-six percent of republicans in the survey support Romney as the candidate compared to 26 percent for Santorum.

Most Gingrich supporters say Romney's their second choice.  If you throw in those votes, CNN pollsters calculate Romney's lead over Santorum widens to 15 points.
