Milton police are searching for two men accused of terrorizing a family at gunpoint Tuesday morning.

Sonia Martinez and her family run a construction business out of their home in Milton.

So it was not surprising when a man knocked on their door Tuesday morning looking for work.

But apparently it was not construction work the man wanted.

Martinez says the man pulled a gun on her brother and stormed his way into their home.

"The next time I came out of the kitchen he was telling my brother to get on the ground," Martinez says.

She says a second bandit arrived and forced all seven people inside to lie on the floor.

The two suspects then ravaged the house for money and jewelry.

Martinez says she was lying closest to the door. So she escaped and managed to call the police.

“I grabbed the phone,” Martinez said. “I tried calling from the corner of the property hoping to get a signal and I was able to just give a quick description of what was going on and keep running because I didn’t have time to look back.”

The suspects fled the home in the 16000 block of Hopewell Road when they heard the sirens. Police dogs sniffed around the area but came up empty.

“We have no reason to believe they’re still in the area, no reason to believe they’re a threat to anyone else in the area,” Milton Police Capt. Shawn McCarty told Channel 2 Action News. “They were specifically targeting this house and we’re still looking for them.”

One of the suspects is described as an olive-skinned Hispanic male, 5-feet-4, weighing 130 pounds and wearing a gray t-shirt, white hat, and dark gray jacket.
