A man trying to get around Lawrenceville Highway on a scooter died after being hit by a truck.
The deadly crash happened around 6 a.m. on Lawrenceville Highway at Steele Drive.
The driver of a Chevy Silverado pickup truck was trying to turn left into the Steel Mart steel supply company when the hit the man on the scooter,” Lt. B.K. DeLoach said.
“(He) didn’t see the scooter coming in his direction, turned into it and struck the scooter.” DeLoach told the AJC.
The scooter driver was dead at the scene. His name has not been released.
Lt. DeLoach says charges are pending against the pickup driver. He was on his way to work when the crash happened.
