A gruesome accident in Cherokee County has left one man dead and federal investigators trying to figure out why.
It happened at the Little River Marina on Lake Allatoona at around 11:20 a.m. Wednesday when 21-year old Josh Roberts of Woodstock was working with two of the forklifts used to move boats in and out of dry storage, according to Cherokee County Sheriff’s deputies.
“He had been crushed by a forklift, but they didn’t appear to be moving boats when it happened,” said Lt. Jay Baker.
Roberts was pronounced dead at the scene. Cherokee County detectives and OSHA investigators are still trying to sort it all out.
