The HOPE Scholarship is one of Georgia's greatest assets.  In the words of Clark Howard, "it was a tremendous idea, a great breakthrough."

But the HOPE is in desperate trouble, losing money on a yearly basis and expected to operate with an even wider budget gap in the years to come.

So, how can the HOPE be saved?

Perhaps with video games.

A proposal would place 7500 video lottery terminals, or VLTs at a hotel complex at I-85 and Jimmy Carter Boulevard.  The idea, its developer says, would save the HOPE Scholarship.

How?  By bringing in the kind of money other states are seeing.
