An elderly man's death is now being considered a homicide after the medical examiner's autopsy report is released and police also discovered new evidence. 

Lt. Chris Byers with the Johns Creek Police Department tells Channel 2 Action News the Fulton County Medical Examiner's office originally ruled 87-year-old Carl Olin's death as accidental.

But, a new autopsy report finds that Olin died from blunt force trauma to his head.  Plus, detectives later found Olin's missing wallet.

"The wallet was located some distance from the home and that's one of the key pieces of evidence that has changed that finding on our part," says Lt. Byers.

On January 12th, Olin's daughter found him dead inside his townhome just off of Jones Bridge Road in Johns Creek.

Investigators initially thought the World War II veteran had fallen and hit his head.

But, now Detectives say his death was not an accident.

Neighbors like Mary Martin can't believe someone killed the elderly man.

"It's just a shame, and I just hope he didn't suffer," says Martin.

Another neighbor, Joy Kubie adds, "He always came to all of our parties, loved to sing and he's just a good-hearted guy.  I can't imagine anybody ever bothering him."

The Johns Creek Police Department continues to investigate Olin's death.
