Using high tech to track down teens

By Bob Coxe

Gwinnett County Police used a helicopter with infrared to track down a teenager suspected of underage drinking.

An assistant principal at Peachtree Ridge High School had smelled liquor as three teens walked into the gym before last Wednesday night's basketball game. He alerted a police officer, who was talking to two of them when the third one ran. The suspect jumped a fence and hid in nearby woods. They sent up the chopper, and officers quickly collared 19-year-old Aaron Knobloch of Suwanee.

He's charged with underage possession and obstruction. The others, both 17, are charged with disorderly conduct.
