Suwanee, GA —
Two missing Georgia boys returned home on Sunday with their mom, from Austin, Texas.
Friends and family held a gathering for the boys in Suwanee Town Center Park to give thanks for their safe return.
Nine-year-old Ben and his 8-year-old brother, Ben, who celebrated his birthday on Saturday, tell Channel Action News they are so grateful to be home.
"Thank you. Thank you to who guys? (mom) Everybody in America," says Ben and Henry.
Their mom, Theresa Nash, traveled to Austin, Texas on Saturday when she received word that the boys and their father, Daniel Cleary, had been found at a hotel in Austin.
Ms. Nash and the boys arrived back in Atlanta on Sunday.
"We're pretty tired. We had two hours of sleep last night and we've been hugging and kissing and saying, I love you, I love you more, I love you, I love you more. But, I love them more and they're insisting that they love me more," says Nash.
The boys father, Daniel Cleary failed to return them to their mother just before Christmas.
Instead, he took off with the boys and was spotted at a Wal-mart near Chattanooga, Tennessee and then a woman in Austin, Texas called police after she says she saw the boys photos on TV.
Around 5:11 p.m. on Saturday, officers from the Austin Police Department arrived at the Crossland Economy Studios, located in 1200 block of High Meadow Drive, in Austin, Texas.
Police say they immediately spotted Daniel Cleary's vehicle (which was listed in an Amber Alert that was released by Roswell Police last Thursday).
Shortly afterwards, police arrived on the scene in Austin, Texas, they saw the two boys and their father coming out of one of the rooms at the hotel.
Cleary was arrested without incident, but officers say they recovered a handgun, a pistol and large amounts of cash and are investigating why Cleary bought the boys to Austin.
The boys were unharmed and remained in the care of Child Protective Services in Austin until their mother arrived late Saturday night.
Daniel Cleary is being held at the Williamson County Jail, in Texas and is facing interfering with child custody charges and a federal charge for crossing state lines with the boys.
