Gwinnett County, GA —
Snellville Police investigators are looking into a rash of catalytic converter thefts.
Nearly 20 have been stolen from vehicles at four businesses in Snellville, including three on Industrial Way and at the U-Haul on Scenic Highway.
Assistant manager Tyler Johnson tells WSB's Sandra Parrish eight trucks were hit at that spot -- nearly a quarter of their fleet.
"This is the second time this has happened at this location alone," says Johnson. "We've had other locations throughout this district that have had the same thing happen."
Because of the valuable metal content, the parts can generate up to $200 at scrap yards.
Snellville Police Capt. Harold Thomas says investigators hope security video from the U-Haul will be helpful in finding the suspect.
Johnson credits the security cameras with helping to catch the thief the last time.
He says it's difficult to secure the parking lot because customers often drop off vehicles after hours.
