Cobb County, GA —

A 16-year-old girl is at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta with serious injuries after she was struck Friday afternoon in Sandy Springs, at the intersection of Roswell and Dalrymple Roads.

One witness tells Channel 2 Action News, "all I heard was the car hit a person and the impact was unbelievable."  Another witness said, "she was like laying on the ground and she had blood all on her face and she was like, unconscious."

Sandy Springs Police say the driver of the Toyota Camry stopped and is cooperating.  They're trying to determine who had the right of way.

Channel 2 Action News reports the girl was taken to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta for treatment. Police said she was breathing but suffered serious injuries.

Police said the driver stopped after the crash. No charges have been filed at this time.
