With one week to go before the vote, proponents of the transportation penny sales tax (T-SPLOST) are on the offensive hoping to drum up support for the eight billion dollar project they say will make a huge difference in our daily commute.

WSB’s Pete Combs did a ride along on Tuesday with Norcross Mayor Bucky Johnson. They drove along I-285 at Spaghetti Junction.

The Mayor says that intersection is one of the worst in Atlanta during rush hour. Johnson, who chaired the Regional Transportation Roundtable, which came up with the list of projects to be undertaken with the estimated eight billion dollars that’ll raised by the sales tax, says "this area will be a top priority. "

TSPLOST backers spent the day out in force, holding rallies and town hall meetings in hopes of convincing voters that if they approve the penny sales tax, it will change life on roadways across Georgia, for the better as they will benefit most from the eight-billion dollar sales tax.

These are the voters Johnson and other backers of the TSPLSOT hope will show up at the polls in big numbers on Tuesday.
