Lilburn Police have arrested a man they say took a five-month-old baby along with him to burglarize a home.

34-year-old Lamont Cummings, who was babysitting his girlfriend's daughter, broke into a house on Springdale Drive last Thursday in the middle of the day.

Neighbor Bill Wannamaiger tells Channel 2 Action News he knew something wasn't right when he saw a stranger down his neighbor's driveway.

"I knew that my neighbor didn't have somebody come pick his rifle up so, I called 911," said Wannamaiger.

When police searched spotted Cumming's red Chrysler Pacifica and tried to pull him over, he took off leaving the baby inside.

Cummings, who was arrested later at his home, was arrested on several charges including child cruelty and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
