By Daphne A. Young

The MARTA ???? line was shut down near the Georgia State station on Monday afternoon after someone was struck by a train.  Spokesman Lyle Harris says the ??? who made contact with the train was not seriously injured and was alert and conscious when emergency crews arrived on scene.

The incident happened around 2 p.m.  Train officials worked to remove passengers from the train and service was interrupted between the Georgia State station and Five Points Station.

A notice was posted on MARTA's website before 1 p.m., saying that, "due to a problem," there was no rail service between the Omni/Georgia Dome station west of Five Points and the Candler Park station to the east.  Harris says, a "bus bridge" was also put in place to shuttle passengers between the six stations affected.
