A father is on the run after "accidentally" shooting his 5-month-old son in the leg, DeKalb police said.
Warrants have been issued for Keymon Jackson, 19, after he fled his home in unincorporated DeKalb County following the shooting.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting are still unknown. The child was rushed to Egleston Children's Hospital. There is no word on his condition, but he is expected to survive.
Jackson is also accused of tampering with evidence, reckless conduct and possession of a firearm by a felon. Plus, he's wanted on an unrelated probation violation.
Police removed several bags of evidence from Jackson’s home, including a flat screen. It’s not clear what that has to do with the shooting.
Keymon Jackson was seen leaving the house in a brown, 1991 GEO Prism. Police are asking anyone with information about Jackson's whereabouts to contact DeKalb County Police.
