Officer Travis Fox and his k9 partner, Lakota, were serioulsy injured in earlier this week while on the job. The five-year-old German Shepherd was immediately retired and Fox who adopted him was told he may have to have one of his legs amputated. But Dr. Scott Rose with the UGA vet school says he is doing much better.
Clayton County Commission Chairman Eldrin Bell says they now willl take care of its responsibility for the officer as well as the dog. Originally, Fox was told he would have to foot the bill.
