Former House Speaker and GOP presidential nominee Newt Gingrich says he plans to continue stumping for his former rival Mitt Romney and other Republicans in the House and Senate.

Speaking to reporters at the Georgia GOP headquarters in Buckhead, Gingrich says he expects Republicans to do well in the upcoming elections.

"We have at least two House races in Georgia that we think we can pick up the open seat and defeating one of the Democrats," he says.

That Democrat is 12 District Congressman John Barrow.

As for his former rival, Gingrich says one of the greatest things Romney has going for him is Pres. Barrack Obama.

"I think most Americans cannot afford four more years with Barrack Obama in terms of their family income, in terms of their jobs," he says.

Gingrich says even some Democrats are starting to pull away from the president.

As for any news of Gingrich becoming Romney's running mate, he says he has not been asked but obviously would not turn it down.
