Georgia woman rescued from sinking ship

By Sandra Parrish

A Georgia woman rescued Monday off the coast of North Carolina in rough seas caused by Hurricane Sandy is doing well.

Anna Sprague was among 16 crew members aboard the H.M.S. Bounty, a replica ship built in 1962 for the movie Mutiny on the Bounty, when it began to take on water.

The U.S. Coast Guard has released the dramatic video showing members, floating in a rubber raft, being hoisted up one by one to a helicopter.

The captain of the ship is still missing while one crew member died.

Mary Ellen Sprague, a Savannah city councilwoman, posted on her Facebook page that her daughter phoned from Elizabethtown, North Carolina to say she was unhurt.

Sprague was on her way to be reunited with her daughter.
